Manchester VC Nancy Rothwell takes lead at PM’s science council

Prime Minister David Cameron has appointed Nancy Rothwell, vice-chancellor of the University of Manchester, as co-chairwoman of the Council for Science and Technology. She will serve with John Beddington, the government’s chief scientific adviser. Rothwell has been on the council since June 2011. She took up her position on 13 February, replacing Janet Finch, who retired in December.
