Neuroscience funding slips from vulnerable to military

Funding for neuroscience research may be being diverted away from medicine and psychiatry in favour of military applications, the chairman of a Royal Society working group has said. In a statement to mark the publication of Neuroscience, Conflict and Security, Rod Flower, professor of biochemical pharmacology at London’s William Harvey Research Institute, said funding decisions in this area should be subject to close ethical scrutiny.
