Oxford’s record £26m donation

The University of Oxford has received its biggest donation ever—£26 million—from the late Atlantic Records founder, Ahmet Ertegun, and his widow Mica. The university has set up the Mica and Ahmet Ertegun graduate scholarship programme in the humanities, which will initially fund 15 scholarships a year, possibly growing to 35. The funding will also be used to pay the salary of a full-time senior scholar in residence to provide mentorship.
