Government’s technology actions ‘piecemeal’, says Cable

The government’s efforts to support important technologies are “rather piecemeal” with funding decisions often lacking systematic follow-through, business secretary Vince Cable has said in a leaked letter. In his letter on industrial policy, addressed to David Cameron and Nick Clegg and dated 8 February, Cable also says the Technology Strategy Board is missing “valuable opportunities” by operating on a declining core budget.
