MRC/EPSRC/ESRC/BBSRC/DH/Scottish Government/Welsh Assembly Government/Northern Ireland Government: promoting physical activity in older age

The Medical Research Council, in collaboration with the Biological and Biosciences Research Council, the Economic and Social Research Council, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, National Institute for Health Research, the Scottish Government, Northern Ireland Government and the Welsh Assembly Government, invites applications for its promoting physical activity in older age call.

This will support research into the physiological effects and behaviours associated with physical activity and sedentary behaviour in the older population, which will inform the future development of effective interventions to motivate and sustain activity in this target population. Applicants may apply for up to £1 million at 80 per cent full economic costs for a maximum period of three years. The total budget is £5m.
