£60m boost for genetics at Edinburgh

The University of Edinburgh has secured £60 million in Medical Research Council grants to boost its work in genetics.

The funding will go to the university’s MRC Human Genetics Unit and the Institute of Genetics and Molecular Medicine, which conduct research into areas such as schizophrenia, cystic fibrosis and genetic eye disorders.
