Book combats eco-doom with success stories

A Cambridge professor has written a book to celebrate the successes of conservation, amid dire stories of environmental collapse.

“You never motivate anybody by just giving them bad news,” said Andrew Balmford, professor of conservation science at the University of Cambridge’s Department of Zoology, and author of ‘Wild Hope’, published this week. “You have to give them a reason for thinking that things can improve and that their actions can change what might happen.”
