Climate target ‘out the window’, says Defra CSA

Hopes of restricting the average global temperature rise to 2°C are “largely out of the window”, Robert Watson, chief scientific adviser at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, has said.

According to a BBC report, Watson said efforts to stop a sharp rise in temperatures were unrealistic and that the rise could be as high as 5°C.
