Four unis include social backgrounds in recruitment

A points system to boost the exam grades of students from poorer homes has been drawn up by four universities, reports the Sunday Telegraph.

The system, which allocates a numerical score based partly on a student’s social background, reportedly means middle-class applicants may lose out to those with lower grades.
