The Joseph Rowntree Foundation invites proposals for its call on an ageing society: how does low-intensity support happen in relationships?
This call focuses on empirical research to explore relationships, trust and risk in an ageing society – and specifically relationships involving low-intensity support. Research should examine informal relationships, for example those existing between family members, friends, neighbours and members of a community, and also in semi-formal relationships, which are governed by outside rules to a greater degree, for example in community-led or voluntary activities. Research should involve older people alongside people of different ages and life stages, and should be undertaken in one or more regions or countries in the UK. The total budget for this call is £230,000 for one or more projects lasting 24 months.
