The Royal Institution has announced that the 2012 Christmas lectures—to be televised on BBC Four—will be delivered by Peter Wothers, a teaching fellow in the chemistry department at the University of Cambridge.
Styling him ‘the modern alchemist’, a Royal Institution statement said his lectures will cover air, water and earth, three of the elements with which ancient Greek alchemists experimented.
