Motorola to see cuts in non-US operations

Mobile phone company Motorola Mobility is to cut 4,000 staff, with the majority of losses occurring outside the US, according to the New York Times. The company has 94 offices worldwide, including operations in UK as well as France, Germany, Italy and Sweden.

The cuts come as part of a restructuring programme by parent company Google that will see 20 per cent of the workforce laid off.
