Scientists may not be as safe in the lab as they think

Although nearly 90 per cent of scientists in a survey believe their labs are safe workplaces, just under half have injured themselves while working, according to a report in Nature.

The survey on workplace attitudes and practices, published 2 January, showed that large numbers of researchers said they frequently worked alone, did not report injuries and had not received sufficient safety training on specific hazards.
