A conference of higher education specialists has concluded that more needs to be done by universities to create gender parity in the sciences.
The meeting on gender equality entitled “Everyone’s job, no-one’s responsibility” was held at the University of Huddersfield on 5 May.
Speaking at the event, Paul Walton (right), professor in bioinorganic chemistry at the University of York, argued that observers of unconscious bias were needed on all university decision-making committees.
