To claim an equipment grant, think how others could benefit

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council’s Strategic Equipment grant offers funding to buy instruments or facilities costing more than £400,000. There are usually several rounds a year, with the next due to close on 3 December.

Alastair Florence, professor of pharmaceutical sciences at the University of Strathclyde, won £519,463 from the scheme earlier this year.
