Policy commission seeks evidence on technician issues

High-level group is investigating skill gaps and staff shortages among technical staff

A government-supported policy team looking at problems facing technical staff in higher education has called for evidence to help shape a national set of recommendations on skill gaps and staff shortages.

The call follows a recent Royal Society report that said the UK will need more technical staff, as well as researchers, if it is to deliver on a major R&D funding boost promised by the government.
