Changes to gender-equality mark “only right” after criticism of administrative burden

Higher education leaders have welcomed efforts by Advance HE to revise the Athena Swan Charter gender-equality awards, arguing that the charter is “still vital” despite the removal of its link to research funding.

On 30 June, Advance HE unveiled its “transformed” Athena Swan Charter, which it said would “build on the great strides the charter has already achieved in promoting gender equality” in higher education and research.
