The Society of Biology has announced it has become a licensed body to implement a register for professional technicians to raise their profiles in the biosciences workforce.
The society will be a one of several professional science bodies—organised by the Science Council—to develop the registers, which were announced by science minister David Willetts at the annual Gareth Roberts Science Policy Lecture in London on 19 October.
