A National Student Association of Medical Research has been launched to boost the number of doctors and medical students pursuing careers in academic research.
The organisation, supported by the Wellcome Trust, will work to inform medical students about the benefits of research careers. The aim is to set up a network of societies, with new or existing research societies at medical schools receiving grants to strengthen the mission.
