The Wellcome Trust has announced that a £3 million Strategic Translation Award has been granted to medical device company Sapiens Steering Brain Stimulation.
The company works to develop next-generation deep brain stimulation technology. Electrical stimulation of the brain can be delivered by a probe implanted in the brain, and can be used to treat patients with Parkinson’s disease and other degenerative brain disorders.
