‘Outdated views’ deterring women from engineering

Calls to encourage more women to consider careers in engineering have fallen on deaf ears.

A survey by the Institution of Engineering and Technology shows that the proportion of women in engineering roles and the numbers working as technicians have remained almost static since 2008. Only 6 per cent of engineers and 3 per cent of technicians are women.
