Action to plug electric vehicle energy gap urged

The Institution of Engineering and Technology has called on government and industry to address the UK’s developing energy needs in the context of increasing use of electric vehicles.

The institution says that reducing the country’s dependence on carbon-based fuels needs to become a priority and that road transport accounts for 22 per cent of the UK’s CO2 emissions.
