The European Molecular Biology Laboratory’s Bioinformatics Institute, based at the Wellcome Trust Genome Centre in Cambridgeshire, has won a contract to lead the free online UK journal PubMed Central.
The institute will lead the development of the life-sciences journal under a five-year contract in collaboration with the University of Manchester and the British Library. It will also involve 18 UK and European funders, headed by the Wellcome Trust.
