Anglo-Canadian genomics project gets another $49m

Two commercial partners have joined a project in structural genomics research based in Toronto and Oxford, helping to bring in $49 million in additional funding.

The Structural Genomics Consortium was set up in 2004 with public and private funding. It creates data on the three dimensional structure of proteins in order to identify potential drug targets in diseases such as diabetes and cancer.
