Postdoc support key for African research, says report

The UK should consider new ways to support early-career researchers in Africa as a way of helping strengthen research in the region, a report by the British Academy has said.

The report, ‘Foundations for the Future: Supporting the early careers of African researchers’, forms part of the ‘Nairobi process’. This began in 2009 with publication of a report by the British Academy and the Association of Commonwealth Universities in 2009 on the rejuvenation of research in the humanities and social sciences in Africa.
