A researcher from the University of Hertfordshire has become the president of the Botanical Society of the British Isles.
Ian Denholm is a research leader in geography, environment and agriculture at the University of Hertfordshire, and also a visiting scientist at Rothamsted Research, where he spent 30 years previously.
Denholm said he hopes to reshape the society for greater recognition and exploitation of its scientific resources. His term began on 12 June.
