Former Liberal Democrat leader Menzies Campbell and the chairmen of the Commons and Lords Science and Technology Committees are among this year’s participants in the Royal Society’s annual scheme pairing politicians and scientists.
Campbell has been paired with Martin Dominik, a Royal Society university research fellow at the University of St Andrews’ school of physics and astronomy.
Andrew Millar, the chairman of the Commons Science and Technology Committee, has been paired with Sarah Coupland, a professor in the University of Liverpool’s department of molecular and clinical cancer medicine. John Palmer, the Earl of Selborne and chairman of the Lords Science and Technology Committee, is being matched with Jon Copley, associate professor in marine ecology at the University of Southampton.
