A scheme providing money for scientists to refurbish their laboratories has received a further £3-million donation from the the Wolfson Foundation.
The first year of the enhanced scheme will focus on research into infectious diseases such as Ebola and a call opened for applications on 1 April.
Refurbishments costing up to £250,000 and equipment costs up to £50,000 can be covered by grants. Proposed refurbishments can be in the UK or overseas, if part of a UK institution.
