Society of Biology names first chartered teachers

Four applicants have become the Society of Biology’s first chartered science teachers.

Under a licence granted by the learned societies and professional bodies membership organisation the Science Council the society can appoint applicants to the Chartered Science Teacher Register.

Graham Scott from the University of Hull, Andrew Duggan from Middlesborough College, Bob Johnston from St Mary’s College Liverpool, and Sarah Cox from the Society of Biology, have achieved chartered science teacher status in the first appointments the society has made since being granted the licence in January 2014.
