The Association of Medical Research Charities has welcomed a proposed UK policy framework for health and social care research but has asked for clarification on the consequences for those not following its requirements.
“It would be helpful to understand what ‘leverages’ the Health Research Authority has over different organisations to promote uptake and adherence,” the AMRC said on 1 May in its response to a consultation on the draft framework.
The framework, which is is intended to “achieve compatibility" across the UK for the ethics, conduct and management of research in health and social care, is the product of work by the Health Research Authority, the Scottish Chief Scientist’s Office and the devolved administrations.
