Arseniy Kuznetsov, a photonics researcher based in Singapore, has been awarded the Institution of Energy and Technology’s A F Harvey Engineering Research Prize.
The IET announced the winner of its £350,000-prize on 8 November.
Kuznetsov was awarded for his contributions to research in on lasers and optoelectronics, and especially for his work on dielectric nanoantennas, which is a new branch of nanophotonics, the IET said. John O’Reilly, the chairman of the IET’s prize committee, said that this was an area that offered huge opportunities for 3D holographic displays and virtual reality devices.
