CRUK plans £226m funding for research centres

Cancer Research UK has announced the largest investment made to date in its research centres.

The charity said in a statement on 1 December that it planned to spend a total of £190 million to 13 of its research centres over the next five years.

In addition to this funding, Cancer Research UK said that it and the Department of Health would be co-funding a further £36m over five years for its network of 18 Experimental Cancer Medicine Centres, which investigate novel cancer treatments and run early clinical trials.
