Royal Society honours team that made ARM chips

The Royal Society has announced the winners of its annual prizes, which include one for the creators of the widely used ARM microprocessor.

Steve Furber and Sophie Wilson were jointly awarded the Mullard medal for their involvement in the design and analysis of the chip, which is used in technologies from smartphones to drones.

The award includes a £2,000 gift and £1,500 travel grant to be shared between them.
