The Academy of Medical Sciences has said it is “showing its commitment to open-access publishing” by becoming one of the first national academies to join Europe PubMed Central.
The academy is the 27th funder of life sciences and biomedical research to become a member of the open-access repository. Europe PMC hosts nearly 4 million full-text biomedical research articles, more than 26 million abstracts from PubMed and more than 4 million biological patent records.
The move means that from 1 August, Europe PMC will allow researchers to freely access and reuse academy-authored and academy-funded research.
