Globe theatre creates digital archive of the Bard’s work

A London theatre is to offer Shakespearean scholars a digital resource of material related to the Bard's plays ranging from prompt books to audience reports and music files.

The project, Shakespeare’s Globe: Performances and Practices, is a collaboration between the Globe theatre on London’s South Bank and Adam Matthew, an imprint of SAGE Publishing, which publishes digital primary-source collections for the humanities and social sciences.

The project will see the digitisation of the majority of the material in the Globe’s archive and will include “an array of essential material for the study of Shakespeare, literature, theatre and performance”.
