McDonald to lead Royal Academy of Engineering

Strathclyde vice-chancellor will be the academy’s first Scottish president

Jim McDonald, an electrical engineer and vice-chancellor of the University of Strathclyde, has been named president of the Royal Academy of Engineering.

Elected on 30 September, he will succeed Ann Dowling and serve a five-year term as the academy’s first Scottish president.
