Academy of Medical Sciences reveals lack of ethnic diversity

Report finds that black and minority ethnic researchers are ‘generally under-represented’ across the academy’s work

A report has laid bare the under-representation of black and minority ethnic researchers in the Academy of Medical Sciences.

According to the learned society’s fifth annual diversity report, published on 6 December, BAME people are represented “fairly well” on international grant panels, as speakers for career development events, as attendees and speakers for corporate affairs events, and as staff.
