Cancer Research UK’s new £13 million “Convergence Science Centre” will aim to combine the methods and knowledge of different scientific disciplines to better tackle cancer, the charity says.
The centre, which was officially launched on 29 July, will see scientists from Imperial College London and the Institute of Cancer Research UK working together. At the helm is Paul Workman, the Institute of Cancer Research’s chief executive, and Ara Darzi, director of Imperial College London’s Cancer Research Centre.
In a statement, Workman said that the centre would “open exciting new frontiers in cancer research”.
