Survey reveals potential exodus of early career researchers

  

Nearly half of UK charity-funded researchers have considered leaving field over funding and career fears

Around 45 per cent of early career researchers funded by medical research charities have considered leaving research since the start of the coronavirus crisis in March, according to a survey of 523 such researchers across 72 charities.

The Association of Medical Research Charities found that the main reason for this is concern about access to future funding, followed by a lack of career prospects, and then by concerns surrounding Brexit.
