Vice-chancellors request new role for research in a manifesto for next year’s elections

Welsh universities have called on the country’s next government to appoint a deputy minister for research and innovation to help boost economic growth.

The current Welsh education minister, Kirsty Williams, is responsible for higher education, but there is no dedicated post for research.
