Policymakers in the UK do not always appreciate medical research charities’ central role in the nation’s R&D and instead perceive them as being “fluffy”, the incoming chief executive of the Association of Medical Research Charities has said.
Nicola Perrin told Research Professional News that there was “still a lot of work to do” on increasing understanding about the role of medical research charities, and that this was particularly the case for government and policymakers.
