Call for action to address drop in UK clinical trials

Decline in late-stage clinical research “should ring alarm bells in the NHS and Whitehall”

Research leaders have called for “urgent action” to address a drop in the number of clinical trials taking place in the UK.

Between 2017 and 2021, the number of industry clinical trials fell by 41 per cent with cancer trials falling by the same margin, according to a report from the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry.
