Country must “significantly speed up” ability to translate science, says Cancer Research UK boss

The UK should be “world leading and not world lagging” on cancer survival, and keeping its position as a global leader in research in the area is key to achieving that, Cancer Research UK’s boss has warned.

Chief executive of Cancer Research UK Michelle Mitchell (pictured) told MPs that the UK needs to “significantly speed up” its ability to translate science, innovation and diagnostics into patent benefit “as quickly as possible”.
