UK-US projects to tackle lack of LGBT+ scientists

Royal Society of Chemistry hopes research will lead to “real change” in sector

New transnational research will investigate policy interventions to tackle the underrepresentation of LGBT+ scientists.

In August, the UK’s Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and the US-based Science and Innovation Network awarded £485,000 to five projects conducting research into the attrition and retention of LGBT+ individuals in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (Stem).
