Science skills need a boost, says industry

Teenagers achieving good science grades should be made to take three science GCSEs, the business lobby group, the CBI, has said.

Growing industries such as low-carbon technology, pharmaceuticals and digital media increasingly require science skills, but more than 40 per cent of companies report difficulties recruiting people with science, technology, engineering and maths skills, the CBI said in a statement on 12 August.
