Oxford genetics company wins €3m in EU funding

Oxford Gene Technology, a provider of technologies for molecular medicine, has been awarded two EU-funded clinical research grants worth €3 million (£2.3m).

The firm will provide genomic analysis and commercialisation services for two international studies. One of them, the five-year EU Life-threatening Infectious Disease Study, will seek to pinpoint genomic variants that determine children’s susceptibility to bacterial infections. Meanwhile, the three-year PATHSEEK study, will probe the potential of next generation sequencing technologies in clinical microbiology labs.
