Advisory council will keep tabs on Welsh innovation

The advisory group established to monitor progress on the Welsh government’s innovation strategy, Innovation Wales, has set a date for its inaugural meeting.

The Innovation Advisory Council consists of representatives from government, higher education and business, and will meet  at the Life Sciences Hub Wales, in Cardiff, on 31 October.

Adam Price, senior programme manager for the innovation agency Nesta, and Ian Menzies, executive director of General Dynamics UK, a US-based defence and infrastcture contractor, have been appointed to co-chair the group.. Price said, “Social and public sector innovation will be essential if we are to cope with the rising demands of an ageing population or fully exploit the opportunities presented by digital technologies to deliver services differently.”
