A wave-power development body is to be set up by the Scottish government to encourage innovation in technologies for harnessing marine energy.
The establishment of Wave Energy Scotland was announced by Fergus Ewing, Scotland’s minister for business, energy and tourism.
The decision is an acknowledgement by the Scottish government that a long-term commitment will be needed to encourage investment in the technology..
