Innovation agency Nesta has published a top 10 list of technology pioneers who use their skills for social good.
Among them is Sue Black, a software engineer at University College London, who has been honoured for her “brilliant advocacy for women in computing”.
Other heroes are Chris Lintott, an astrophysicist at the University of Oxford and cofounder of Zooniverse, the largest online collection of citizen science projects, and Rufus Pollock, who cofounded the leading open data platform for storing and sharing data, the Comprehensive Knowledge Archive Network.
