The higher education ICT organisation Jisc and the Association of Research Managers and Administrators are encouraging universities to pilot the Open Research and Contributor ID registry, which provides a central place for researchers to collate different aspects of their work at no cost.
In a statement, Jisc said that £10,000 would be available to support up to eight projects that commit to using the ORCID database.
The aim of the pilot projects is to gather understanding on how to make ORCID implementation more effective and streamlined. The two organisations hope to produce case studies and sa the outcomes will inform recommendations.
